The California Municipal Treasurers Association was founded in 1958 as a non-profit association. The elected Executive board strives to maintain programs directed toward achieving the following goals of the organization:

 

Promote education
  Provide opportunities for information networking
  Improve the quality of service to members and citizens
  Support the mission, purpose and involvement in the national organization of the United States and Canada
  Work constructively toward the advancement and improvement of the treasury management profession
  Promote cooperation between state, county, and local agencies, and
  Help certify investment policies of governmental entities through the national organization

CMTA DUES RENEWALS

 

Dues are payable by April 1, 2008 for inclusion in the annual CMTA Directory.  If you are interested

in joining CMTA, please use the below information to calculate your membership costs.  If you are

unsure how many people from your agency are already members of CMTA, please call 916/658-8209

Active Members (including special districts):

$155 is good for up to TWO people per agency.  Each additional membership is $40 per person.

Commercial Members are $205 each.                 Sustaining members are $30 each.

 

Annual Conference: The annual conference is generally held in April, at which we have Motivational speakers, informative speakers, roundtable discussions and networking opportunities. It is generally topped off with a fun gala dinner for the enjoyment of the members.

Education: Workshops are scheduled periodically for training and certification in cash handling and issues pertinent to treasury management. We have broken down the state into areas called divisions and we have informative meetings in your local area.

Newsletter: We have the ”dollars & sense” a quarterly publication which provides information and educational articles.

Scholarships: The CMTA has a separate scholarship fund that is supported by an annual auction of donated items, which provides monetary awards toward workshop/seminar registration and conference fees for the CMTA yearly conferences.

Professional certification: this program offered by the CMTA, establishes standards that recognize the professional achievement of treasury officials. Members who meet these standards in education and experience are recognized as a Certified California Municipal Treasurer. (CCMT)

Investment Policy Certification: this program provides the development and adoption of investment policies through professional recognition of the CMTA for those entities whose polices have met the high standards of excellence.
